As of August 1st Brandon is officially retired from the US Air Force. It is a bittersweet thing that is for sure. I am so grateful for our time in the military, for the places we have traveled, and for the people we have met. Yet I am so glad to be done with the traveling, deployments, long shifts, and the worrying about my husband. I am glad that I no longer have to share him with the USAF!
We have all settled into life here in Manti fairly well. Brandon is enjoying his new job and is staying very busy. I always thought it was the military that made him work so hard and such long hours but turns out I married a hard worker!
The girls have been enjoying their summer but are looking forward to schools starting. Bella has a part in the local children's theater play Cinderella and Evie just signed up for soccer. I am busy with PTA for the middle school (I am the president elect) and trying to get my photography business going here. I am also going to nanny part time for a friend when school starts. Basically we are busy busy busy but happy as can be.
One of the things we love the most about being here is having family close by. Holidays take on a new wonderful meaning when you can spend them with family. Heidi and her family arrived this last week. Evie has been counting down the days until she could see Luke again! Pam came down on Saturday and our 3 families (minus Chris) roasted hot dogs and made smores. It was a wonderful evening and the first time the 3 of us had been together in almost a year. I am looking forward to much more family time as we settle into civilian life!
